Job Description: Director of Community Impact

 

·       Assists the President, Board of Directors, staff and community volunteers in the planning, development and implementation of the United Way of Rockland County’s Community Impact process and community assessment.

 

·       Works with volunteers, community partners, non-profits, governments, hospitals, faith-based organizations and others to collaboratively build effective plans to target results, allocate funds, develop additional resources and measure outcomes in order to positively impact Health and Human Services issues in Rockland County.

 

·       Plans, promotes and manages the logistics of the UWRC Day of Caring event.

 

·       Works in partnership with the President & the Campaign Director to obtain sponsors for all UWRC fundraising events, including the UWRC Day of Caring, UBS Presents: United Way on Broadway and the Rockland Open.

 

·       Serves as the local administrator of EFSP and the Lend-a-Hand program.

 

·       Helps promote United Way’s 211 helpline and works with the UWRC staff to keep our 211 and Raiser’s Edge databases current.

 

·       Encourages volunteer involvement in the community.  Answers requests about volunteering opportunities, works with the staff to appropriately recognize UWRC volunteers and administers the Bobbi Lewis UWRC Volunteer of the Year Award nomination process.

 

·       Assists the staff in disaster planning/relief efforts including the recruitment of VOAD volunteers.

 

·       Continuously provides information to keep the UWRC website updated.  Also assists all staff to develop marketing materials relating to community impact and UWRC fundraising events.

 

·       Coordinates the UWRC Annual Meeting and provides support for all other UWRC Board meetings when Community Impact is highlighted.  Must attend all Board, Executive Board and staff meetings as well as support the committees that routinely work with the Director of Community Impact.

 

·       Represents UWRC at community and regional meetings, agency events and relevant conferences in partnership with the President.

 

·       Attends professional development seminars (may require reimbursed travel).

 

·       Reports to the President & CEO and assists her/him in the oversight and management of day to day office operations.

 

 

 

 

The Director of Community Impact’s performance will be evaluated and reviewed by the President and presented to the Evaluation and Compensation Committee at least once during the fiscal year.  This performance evaluation will include a discussion of current as well as future annual goals and objectives, a salary and benefits review and an opportunity to fully discuss the integration of the Director of Community Impact’s job within the staff team.
