UWRC recognizes the importance of volunteers

Volunteers run the United Way of Rockland County. They are the heart of our organization, as members of our board or as members of our many committees, ensuring that we help over 100,000 people in Rockland every year. These volunteers are recognized throughout the year and particularly at our March annual meeting.

UWRC also recognizes the essential work that volunteers are doing for our Member Agencies. Every spring UWRC sponsors a special and exclusive event for our Member Agencies to publicly honor a select number of their volunteers at our Volunteer Recognition Dinner.

Thanks to Provident Bank, the Volunteer Recognition Dinner is totally underwritten so that this celebratory event is free of charge for our agencies and their volunteers of the year.

In addition to honoring our Member Agency volunteers, UWRC has an annual event to promote community service in the fall that also serves to kick-off our annual campaign. The Day of Caring has become a favorite event in Rockland with more than 400 volunteers from over 40 companies and organizations committing the day to helping non-profit agencies with meaningful service projects.
