Nanuet, New York – June 28, 2005 – An Old Fashioned Summer Barbecue hosted by Norris Cadillac-Pontiac-GMC will serve as the backdrop for the drawing of the two winners of the United Way of Rockland County’s 2004-2005 Campaign Raffle on Tuesday, June 28. Winners will be selected from the United Way Raffle for the all-new 2005 Pontiac G6 courtesy of Norris Cadillac-Pontiac-GMC of Nanuet as well as a 3-day Carnival Cruise courtesy of All Aboard Cruises in West Nyack. To enter the raffle, eligible participants had to make a pledge to the United Way of Rockland County Community Care Fund. Participants needed to donate $150 upfront or to pledge at least $5 per week ($260 or more per year). Donations will be accepted until June 20, 2005.

United Way’s Old Fashioned Summer Barbecue will take place at Norris Cadillac-Pontiac-GMC on Route 304 in Nanuet beginning at 12:00 noon on June 28 and is open to the public. Hot dogs, soda and ice cream will be the fare of the day along with music, balloons, giveaways and plenty of fun.

Naomi Adler, president and CEO of United Way of Rockland County said, “We are extremely fortunate to have these two very community minded companies supporting our campaign pledge raffle this year by offering these two great prizes. Norris Cadillac-Pontiac-GMC has been a responsible corporate citizen with an exemplary reputation in Rockland County for over twenty-one years. All Aboard Cruises is a wonderful cruise and travel agency which has strongly supported this year’s campaign.”

The United Way of Rockland County Community Care Fund allocates donations to all of the United Way programs in Rockland to make the most positive impact throughout the county. More than 1,000 volunteer hours a year are spent auditing these programs to ensure that every dollar donated is helping more than 100,000 local people receive the meaningful services from Rockland’s non-profit community. All monies that are raised in Rockland, stay in Rockland.
