Looking to
Make a Difference? Volunteer for the
United Way
Nyack, NY, May 30 -- The United Way of Rockland County
is looking for volunteers who want to help make a difference in our
community. The United Way is currently forming
committees to coordinate efforts for the organization’s Day of Caring and its
Broadway in Rockland
event.
Day
of Caring, to be held on Friday, October
5, is the county’s single largest day of community service benefiting Rockland non-profit
organizations. Day of Caring encourages
area businesses to reward employees by representing their company in this
enriching day of community service. In
addition, area civic organizations and schools team up to pitch in. Volunteers are needed to help identify
potential community service projects, assist with logistics at the Day of
Caring Kick-Off Breakfast to be held at Nyack High School,
assemble goody bags for volunteers and more.
Broadway
in Rockland, to be held on Monday,
November 5, brings Neil Berg and his cadre of Broadway starts to Rockland to perform for
the benefit of the United Way’s
Community Care Fund. Volunteers are
needed to help distribute promotional material, assist with logistics for the
show and the pre-show “Taste of North Rockland” at Fieldstone Auditorium, provide
assistance at the event and more.
Anyone interested in volunteering
to support these events should contact Diane Serratore, Director of Community
Impact, at 845-358-8929, ext. 14 or at d.serratore@uwrc.org.
The mission of the United Way of Rockland County is to serve people by raising
resources and allocating them to organizations and groups to build a strong,
vibrant Rockland Community. The Untied Way works to
increase the organized capacity for people to care for one another.
