“You’re The Top!”
United Way of Rockland County To
Recognize Top Campaign Supporters
Nyack, NY, June 7 -- The United
Way of Rockland County (UWRC) will celebrate its successful 2006-07 campaign at
a special “You’re The Top!” recognition breakfast to be hosted by Good
Samaritan Hospital on Thursday, June 14.
“The support that’s been given to the United Way by hundreds of businesses and
thousands of their employees is truly commendable,” said Howard Hellman, UWRC
Board Chair and president of All Bright Electric. “The funds generated by our supporters help
make it possible for the United
Way to continue to make a positive difference here
in Rockland.”
At the “You’re The Top!”
breakfast, UWRC will announce its 2006-07 campaign results and recognize key
contributors to the campaign’s success. “For
the tenth year in a row, Orange
and Rockland Utilities will receive the Top Corporate Donor Award,” said Naomi
Adler, UWRC’s CEO. “"There was a
spirited competition among a number of terrific companies who were vying with
O&R for the Top Donor honor, but once again Orange and Rockland
Utilities and its employees definitely are the top!” In addition to Orange and Rockland Utilities, nearly 30
companies will be recognized at Thursday’s “You’re The Top!” breakfast, Adler
said.
O&R President and CEO John D.
McMahon said, “O&R, IBEW Local 503 and the shareholders of Consolidated
Edison, Inc. donated over a quarter of a million dollars to the United Way this
year. Our employees worked hard to make this a truly Company-wide effort. The
result is a testament to selfless giving by O&R employees for the benefit
of their communities.”
He added, “O&R is enormously
proud to once again be named United
Way’s Top Donor.
We are proud of the deep and continuing connection to the communities we
serve. We believe that there is no purer expression of that dedication to a
community’s ideals than this remarkable achievement.”
The United Way of Rockland
County works to improve lives by
mobilizing the community, raising resources and allocating them to build a
strong, vibrant Rockland
County.
