Thank you again for trusting us with your contribution this year. It is already getting results, preventing homelessness, supporting access to quality childcare, care for our seniors and reducing violence in Rockland’s families.

In the last year we have been informed by the IRS that during an audit of charitable contributions, they may want to see the pledge form that you used to contribute or a portion of that pledge form that we label “Your Receipt”. This year we have designed our pledge card with a perforated receipt at the bottom so that you can tear this off and keep it with our thank you letter and other records you use to substantiate additional charitable donations.

In some cases you may want to access your original pledge card that you filled out during your company’s United Way campaign. When we are given original pledge cards, United Way of Rockland County has a policy to keep all completed pledge cards for at least three years and we would be more than happy to produce the original to a donor when requested. However many businesses who conduct United Way campaigns within their workplaces do not give us the original pledge forms after a campaign has concluded. In many cases your Human Resources Department or Payroll Department may have this document.

If you have misplaced your receipt and/or thank you letter and would like a letter from us confirming the donation, please e-mail Dan Murphy, our Finance Director, at d.murphy@uwrc.org. Please include your full name and home address, the name of your company, the approximate date when the United Way campaign was conducted as well as the amount that you contributed. Once we have confirmed your contribution, you will receive a letter recognizing that we received your contribution within a week of your request.
