Become a United Way Caring Club® Member!  Simply donate $120 to the United Way of Rockland County Community Care Fund today and you will receive a card good for many area merchant discounts valid through July 1, 2008!!

Yes! I want to become a United Way Caring Club® Member!  How do I enroll?

  • Click here to contribute at least $120 online through our secure website or send us a check payable to United Way of Rockland County.
    • Our address is 135 Main Street, 2nd Floor M & T Bank, Nyack, NY 10960.
  • As soon as we receive your contribution, we will send the Caring Club® card to the home address that you have given us. Please sign the back of the card to activate it.
  • Click here for the list of participating merchants and their year round discounts. These businesses will also be displaying a Caring Club® Card sign on their door/window. You must present your Caring Club® Card at the time of purchase to receive the discount (online discounts require a Promotional Code which is displayed with the list of merchants). Please check back periodically as more merchants are signing on each week.
  • Your card expires on July 1, 2008. To renew your card, please visit www.uwrc.org.

How do businesses enroll in the Caring Club® Card Program?

  • Determine what discount you would like to offer to all customers who presents a United Way of Rockland County Caring Club® Program Card from September 1, 2007 to July 1, 2008 (a 10% minimum discount is required). Please make sure that all limitations are listed clearly so that we list your promotion correctly.
  • Complete and return the merchant contract.
    • Click here to obtain the merchant contract.
    • Return a completed contract to United Way of Rockland County.
      • Our address is 135 Main Street, 2nd Floor M & T Bank, Nyack, NY 10960.
      • Send an e-mail to Jackie Goldstein, UWRC Campaign Director at j.goldstein @ uwrc.org  to let her know that the contract is on its way.
  • Send us a link and/or logo for us to upload on the Caring Club® Card Program page at www.uwrc.org. Within one week of receiving this information we will make sure that the Caring Club® Card Program webpage will contain this link.

 

Once I sign and return the Merchant Agreement, what happens next?

  • Within a week of our receipt of your completed merchant agreement, you will receive a Caring Club® Card marketing package that includes a door sign, window flyers and a sample card. 
  • Please hang up the sign and flyers in a prominent place so that consumers know that you are a participating merchant.
  • Please show your employees the sample card as well as information about the discount so that they know how and when to honor it.
  • Within a week you will be contacted by Jackie Goldstein, UWRC Campaign Director, to follow up regarding any questions. She will also ask to personally visit your business where she can deliver larger posters to hang up in your business.
  • Cardholders will be told about your generous discount throughout the year through more than 100 United Way workplace campaigns, at all United Way public events and on our website which receives hundreds of hits a month!
  • Merchants who track the amount that was saved by the Caring Club® Card Members who used them at their business should contact us in June, 2008 with this amount.  UWRC will then send an acknowledgment letter that may be used to claim a tax deduction (please consult your accountant for details).  UWRC is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a Federal Tax ID of 13-2535262.
