Getting Started
Establish your committee right
now!
– Every
department should be represented if possible
Pick up campaign materials at
UWRC and utilize them immediately
– Hang
UWRC flyers throughout each department
– Ask each
department head for the date and time they’ve scheduled for the UWRC
presentation.
– Inform
UWRC of the date and time so a UWRC representative can be on hand to thank the
participants.
– Bundle
UWRC Campaign Donation Forms into stacks of 50.
– Have
volunteers “stuff” incentive awards for company participants, non-profit
participants. I don’t even want to see
him.. Hang posters Ask each department for the date/time of their UW
presentation
– Reserve
UWRC presenters as soon as you know
Educate your committee
– The more
they know the better your result
Motivate your committee
– Set
goals and inspire their creativity!
Keep up the communication
– Within
committee, with top management, with all co-workers
- Use
e-mail, bulletin boards, mailboxes
- Use
case stories/testimonials to make the case to give
- Send
out our newsletters to everyone within the company
- Give
a progress report after the first week
- Show
your enthusiasm
- Thank
everyone often
- Ask
early and often if support is needed for key leaders
- Troubleshoot
if needed before end of campaign
- Be
the example – be the first to give
- Involve
as many people as possible
- Do
not forget retirees, part time staff, new staff as hired
- Utilize
strengths of union leadership, etc.
